Mozart's church music paved the way for the great choral pieces of his "Idomeneo". From the Salzburg "Venite populi" in 1776, Mozart's musical development continued unbroken right up to the inspired "Coronation Mass" and the dramatic "Sunday Vespers", which was composed in the year before "Idomeneo". Once more, Nikolaus Harnoncourt uncovers the born dramatist in Mozart, the church composer.
We are offering a shuttle bus service to Stainz. The price is EUR 10,- per person; the bus leaves at 7 p.m. in front of the Opera of Graz (Franz-Graf-Allee); return journey after the concert.
The concert will be recorded by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation ORF and broadcasted live on Radio Steiermark and in the Graz Landhaushof: ORF-Klangwolke (8.30 p.m.). The concert from July 6 will be broadcasted live on Radio Ö1 (8.30 p.m.).
