Alexander Mitterer is actor and director, born in 1968 in Bruneck, South Tirol/Italy. He studied play at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien and finished his studies in 1993. Since then he had numerous engagements in theatre, film, radio and television. His last performances were Granit by Felix Mitterer (Tatort series), Elling by Axel Hellstenius at the Theater Kaendace which he had founded together with Klaudia Reichenbacher in 2004, Der Rest ist Sehnsucht by Ute Liepold/Bernd Liepold Mosser at the same place, Sharons Grave by John B. Keane/Felix Mitterer at the Tiroler Volksschauspiele Telfs, Aischylos' Prometheus at the Neue Bühne Villach and König Ubu by A. Jarry at the Scala Wien.
Besides his acting career he is working as director himself; lastly he staged Die Reichsgründer oder Das Schmürz by Boris Vian at the Theaterzentrum Deutschlandsberg/Styria and Der Flug der gebratenen Ente by Grigori Grigorin for the Burgspiele Rabenstein/Styria.
