Yasushi Hirano

Bass (La Voce)

Yasushi Hirano was born in Tokyo und began to study voice there. Later he went to Vienna to deepen his studies at the Music University in Vienna with Rotraut Hansmann, Michael Temme, Leo Plettner, Robert Holl, and Charles Spencer. In 2007 he graduated with distinction.

First engagements followed at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg as Emirone (Ottone), in Krakow as Colline (La Bohème), and at the Tongyong International Music Festival in South Korea. In 2003 he sang at the KlangBogen festival in Vienna under Bertrand de Billy in Mozart's Idomeneo. His repertoire also comprises Mozart's Figaro and main parts in operas by Rossini, Lortzing, Tschaikowsky, Wagner, and Verdi. In 2006 he performed in Viktor Ullmann's Der Kaiser von Atlantis in Vienna and at the festivals in Salzburg (Gogo no Eiko by Hans Werner Henze) and Bregenz (Blaubart by Jacques Offenbach).

He is laureate of the Ada Sari Competition in Nowy Sacz, Poland. Since June 2007 Yasushi Hirano is a member of Opernstudio Graz and ensemble member of Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
