Patrick Demenga
Der 1962 geborene Musiker studierte am Konservatorium Bern, bei Boris Pergamenschikow in Köln und bei Harvey Shapiro in New York. Mehrere Preise dokumentieren den Beginn seiner Karriere – heute zählt er international zu den renommiertesten Cellisten.
Born in 1962, Patrick Demenga studied at the Conservatory of Bern, with Boris Pergamenschikow in Cologne and with Harvey Shapiro in New York. He was awarded with numerous prizes which document the beginning of his career. Today he is among the internationally most renowned cellists.
As soloist and chamber musician he is regularly performing at important festivals and in music centres, working together with conductors such as Heinz Holliger, Mario Venzago, Dennis Russel Davies, and others - and orchestras such as Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, RSO Vienna, Camerata Bern, Münchner Kammerorchester, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and others.
Patrick Demenga teaches at the Conservatoire de Lausanne and at several international master classes. Furthermore he is artistic director of the concert series "Vier Jahreszeiten-Konzerte" in Blumenstein, of the cello festival "VIVA CELLO", and of the "Musikfestwoche Meiringen".
