I Barocchisti
The ensemble I Barocchisti takes on the artistic legacy of the Società Cameristica di Lugano (Switzerland), committing itself since the 50s to the performance of forgotten baroque works. Their musical director was Edwin Loehrer.
The Swiss violinist and mandolin player Duilio Galfetti ist their musical director; he recorded for Warner-Teldec for many years.
I Barocchisti perform in variable numbers ranging from four to forty members from Switzerland and Italy, all with comprehensive concert experience as soloists and in chamber music.
Under the musical direction of Diego Fasolis, together with the Coro della Radio Svizzera, they have recorded numerous concerts and CDs that were awarded international prizes featuring works of Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Galuppi, and Scarlatti. They have recorded a highly acclaimed disc with recorder concerts by Vivaldi with the virtuoso Maurice Steger for the Swiss label Claves.
