Jeremy Ovenden
English tenor Jeremy Ovenden studied at the Royal College of Music in London. In 1994 he received the encouragement prize from the Ian Fleming Foundation, which enabled him to continue his studies with Nicolai Gedda. After his highly lauded début as Don Ottavio in Mozart's "Don Giovanni", he quickly established himself as one of the top Mozart tenors of his generation.
At such leading houses as the Teatro Communale in Florence, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, La Fenice in Venice, La Scala Milan as well as major festivals like Glyndebourne, Aix-en-Provence and the Salzburg Festival he has taken part in productions of Mozart's "Così fan tutte", "La clemenza di Tito", "Don Giovanni", "Die Zauberflöte", "Zaïde" and "Il sogno di Scipione".
Jeremy Ovenden is also a well versed interpreter of the baroque repertoire. He regularly collaborates with conductors like Christophe Rousset, René Jacobs, Ton Koopman, Fabio Biondi and Nikolaus Harnoncourt.
